Yesterday I went fabric shopping and met my friend Laura in town for lunch. We stumbled across this garden installation (which I assume was made to advertise dreamscape gardens, cool idea) on the side of the road and decided to take some pictures.
It was interesting to have my picture taken by someone who is an artist but not a photographer, as the images we ended up with are slightly outside the norm for this type of post, but I really like them.

Last weekend we had a BBQ in the sun and walked home through the park, under a canopy of cherry blossoms. It was very warm but I’m not quite convinced it’s summer yet so I opted, as usual, for a multi-layered, mostly black outfit.

Yesterday I went into town with my mum to choose a new fashion book for my collection.
I wanted something that actually had the potential to inspire me, as well as featuring beautiful imagery. We looked through a variety of book at both Magma and Waterstones and I ended up choosing the Alexander McQueen book that accompanied the V&A exhibition, edited by their senior curator, Claire Wilcox.
On the way back to the car, we spotted a nice, white corredor, ideal for taking outfit pictures in.

The book I chose
Yesterday it was mother’s day and I went to have lunch with my family. As usual, I was rushing around trying to do the shopping and clean the house in time for my client consultations so I had hardly any time to get ready.
Even though I love texture, when I first put this outfit on, I thought it might be too much and almost decided not to photograph it. When I saw it on camera however, I found all the details really interesting. Fashion is not about being safe all the time.

This weekend I attended my first summer wedding of the year, in a beautiful little village in Cheshire.
Contrary to popular belief, I don’t always wear black but it can be hard for me to find the perfect dress to suit my style for such things.
After a lot of looking around I decided to make myself something out of this water print fabric I bought last year. I quite enjoyed making this and would be happy to make similar ones if anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation.
