This week I’m looking for promotional photoshoot inspiration. I’m hopefully going to be able to finish, shoot and release my spring/summer range which is pretty exciting. You might have seen a few pieces at VAUVAU but I’ve done some rearranging since then. I’m also loving 3D printing and wish I had the chance to try it out myself. Still working toward my giant paper flowers. I’ve featured them a few times but hopefully they will work out for me this time.
Flower tribe.
I’ve been inspired to create a pastel image set with with tribal influences for nearly a year now and finally had some free time to play around. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to use some of my new Bodyjewelleryshop.com pieces in a shoot.
I love trying out new types of body jewellery and the items featured in this set are some of my current favourites.
Pink synthetic opal ball which I just slot into one of my large septum rings.
Blackline internally theaded disk.
Iridescent crystal labret stud.
Most of these where sent to me by Bodyjewelleryshop.com (which was super nice of them) but I also included a couple of items from my personal collection, as I do use their site frequently.
To complete the look I added an oversized jewellery set I made myself out of latex, faux pearls and flowers. Though I make stuff nearly every day, I still enjoy putting together costume pieces for shoots and shows.
The flower harness and stripey bralet are part of the upcoming spring range for Eustratia and should be on sale in the near future. I’d love to know what you think of them!
You see more of my modelling work on my page and the images were taken in my home studio, where we will soon be hosting shoots and model days, by Richard Ayres who has also just finished a fantastic headpiece that will feature in one of our shoots soon.
Black Diamonds
At the beginning of year I got asked to collaborate on a beautifully dark editorial with a fantastic group of creatives. Some of the images have recently been published in Dark Beauty magazine and I believe some of the beauty shots are also due to appear in FACEON.
I put together 8 looks using items form Eustratia, Richard Ayres, Carly Petitt Tylor and my own wardrobe and also did nails for one of the looks. I was especially happy to use the non-latex items I have made as I haven’t had a chance to get them published before.

current obsessions #7
Shooting for Sanctus
I met designer Lucinda Sinclair at clothes show a couple of winters ago and admired her rather cool top. She has since gone on to launch a cult inspired street-wear label called Sanctus.
A few weeks ago I had the privilege of doing a shoot in some items from the Illuminex collection. Most of them aren’t available any more but feel free to check out the SS13 line, Adramelech.
I also got a change to try out the 5 strand braid I was obsessed with at the time.
I shot with photographer Nina pang and styled with a variety of interested items I already had, including some pieces from my own label, Eustratia, Richard Ayres and Carly petitt Taylor.
Nina also brought a polaroid camera with her, I think they take great shots.
Here are the final images:
I really enjoyed wearing these and ended up buying the Cuculatus dress in the end of line sale. It is very comfortable and flattering.
I prefer shopping from independent designers where I can get a unique, quality item, made ethically and with love. I think it would add freshness and challenge the industry if everyone didn’t rely on the same 5 stores for their wardrobe.
